Do you know what you plan to do? It's highly recommended to upgrade to advance level in the software at time of purchase. It will cost you more if you upgrade at a later time.

Welcome aboard :)

Many people think it costs more to start at the basic license and then upgrade. If you take a closer look at the prices you see that it will cost you the same regardless of how you upgrade.

Take a look at this breakdown of prices: http://syncxmas.com/JD9irl

Note that if you get the Starter Kit your overall software price is going to be even lower than what you see at the link provided.

But that doesn't include starter package discount. Starter package with Advance is $112.85. Upgrade with starter is $70, upgrade later is $90

Here are the software costs when purchased with the Starter Kit(s).

Note this only looks at the cost of the software in the starter kit, not the additional items included. The cost of the software is the same in the Generic Starter Kit, Residential Starter Kit, and the Pro Starter Kit.

As you can see the cost of the Advanced license, when purchased with a starter kit is $69.00. There would be no further upgrades required.

I'm just waitin on controller to get here to download software I upgraded to the advanced at time of purchase. Should be here tomorrow. Looking foward to getting started. I had a big box store 4 channel controller so I decided to upgrade this year and have tons of ideas.

The point is... you can download the software right now. Plus... you should have your license key sitting in your email. If not, retrieve it and you're good to go. If it's not there, open an LOR support ticket and they will help. The software will sit in demo mode until a license key is registered.

It's pretty bad when you sit around thinking...... Hmmmmm are their any other holidays evenly spaced throughout the year that I can sequence lights to so I can keep parts of my display up all year long??

I actually thought about this

that's an addict

Kind of the same here. This year going two weeks after New Years and next year thinking of starting at Thanksgiving. Just wonder how much the neighbors can take.

I think that 99% of us start our show the day after Thanksgiving. But I may be wrong.

I'll be lighting up mine for the first time on that same date. Going to put out a sign and invite the whole neighborhood. lol, just hope it works!
