MikeHeather
Hello:I've going through the tutorial and have created a new file with a background picture. I'm creating a fixture string with multiple channels/colors. Once I have it it configured with the channel information, bulb information, and I click ok, it should appear on the stage. It doesn't show up.If I open up the sample, I can add strings/fixtures and they show up, but when I do a new file, the fixtures won't show on the stage.I'm sure it is an obvious thing.Regards,Mike
WilliamS
you have to setup a background color, if not they will not appear on the screen until they are lit with the sequence you are running. So click on the fixture/prop again and choose background color, this does not affect the color they are just how they show up when there is no sequence in play. When you hit the play button on the top left they will disapear as well as they are not being lit by a sequence.
james campbell
I think William said it best,I noticed that mine won't show up until I make the background black. then once you place all the props where you want them then put the background back to see your house. I have all mind set to green so I can see them over my house in daylight. When you click on the prop half way down the dialog box it will say background or prop color not 100% sure but its a set of RGB color bars. These setup the props color in setup mode. Set to green and hit OK. This does not change the color of the device it only let you see it when its not in play mode.
MikeHeather
Thanks everyone. I started completely over following the steps with adding background, adding a string with channels and the lights showed up. So not sure what the problem was. One thing I did noticed was before that the little blue circle (CPU?) was showing instead of the mouse arrow most of the time.I noticed that I do need to save often, sometimes things hang up.Cheers,Mike
LOR Staff
The out of memory thing is very VERY hard to catch for me as a programmer. I'm trapped between putting hard limits in, vs allowing the user as much leeway as possible.Unfortunately, Windows has no way to let me know when this particular type of memory is running low. Even more insidious is that it will work for 2 or 3 hours and then BOOM - OOM.As for the colors, ensure you have set a default color that isn't WHITE. If you start a new Vis and don't specify a background, white is used. Like finding a polar bear in a snow storm, you are not going to see white lights on a white background
