Nutcracker: musings on a new target model

I saw an exhibit at the Denver art museum a few years back where they hung led strings from the ceiling. It looked like a big area with random flashing lights. But, if you got to the right place it resolved into moving shapes (shadows of people ) walking.

Here is an artist also making pictures out of hanging leds

i was imagining what i might do with much fewer strings, something like a giant cube with each strand 2-3 feet apart. Maybe at first, not even a cube. Say 10 strings hanging vertically around the front yard. From one viewpoint from the street the randomness turns into some cool effect.

The math of projecting objects into 3d space is pretty straightforward.

need more lights ....

With you putting a matrix in your software I thought I would try it out. I got everything generated and working in your software. But I'm stumped when trying to import the file to LOR S2. If it's an XML file what do I do with it? I know you mention in your exporting video that you might do a tutorial on importing them. I can wait for the video but if you could point me to a quick answer that would be great too!
Thanks
By the way, this is fantastic, and just what I was looking for!

Would love to see this option Sean. But as I recall this was one of the first models you mentioned early on. A 3D space model which required the 'tree' to know the position of each bulb in xyz coordinates. And then you could pass an object through it, as opposed to around or down.
