CCR Question from oz newbie

G'day newbie of oz here

I have just purchased 8 of the CCR's and have many more question than the manual can answer, so any reply's will be appreciated.

When I run the LOR control panel the LOR icon is red is this correct I thought is was meant to be blue?

In the quick start guide is says to only plug in one CCR to select unit ID and to configure for use (no daisy-chain) so do I need to do this for all 8 CCR's one at a time with ID for each of them?

When setting up a daisy-chain is the first controller like a master control and other 5 slave controllers?

I have been told the RS 485 Adapter will only support 6 CCR's I have 2 and I am planning on purchasing 4 more CCR's so question is there any other set up instructions for the use of 2 Adapters ?

Would it be recommended to get a laptop/computer to be used just for my LOR set up and nothing else?

I am sure I will have many more questions over time as I really like to know how things work when I'm learning about something new.

Finally I would like to thank Dan and Mary for all the info. I asked about be purchasing my CCR's.

Cheers Adrian;)

The control icon will only be blue if you have a controller (in your case a CCR) connected to the computer.

To keep each CCR operating independently, you must program each unit ID separately.

No to master and slave unless you have loaded an animation sequence and are running it. The computer running a sequence will pass the info through the cat5 cable to the individual CCR's and they (by the unit ID) will take the info addressed to them and pass the rest to the other controllers. That is why you need each CCR with it's own unit ID.

Don't know the answer.

Personal preference.

Welcome to the madness.

G'day bisquit476

Thanks for the welcome

I didn't notice the icon change colour when the CCR was connected will check when hook them back up.

So to operate the CCR's independently each unit must have it's own ID got i(should ID number written on control box), will having there own ID stop a loaded animation sequence from working or will just work through it?

Bring on the madness!

cheers adrian

I am a CCR newbie also, and about to pull my hair out. I have been reading older posts and the manuals and can not seem to get my CCR to chase using the macros. I played with them in the hardware utility, but when I go to use sequence editor and go to those channels how do you input the information? I am hoping I am just missing some huge thing in front of my face. Anyone have a section of sequence they can share with this being used?

I'm having the same issues. I used to think I was intelligent enough to operate the CCR....having my doubts now. Does all CCR programming need to be set up as an animation? I already have songs that are done and just want to throw the CCR's in on top of the sequences that are done. I really have no desire to figure out the timings again. I must be missing a chapter in the instruction book......................
