harrison0550
Count me in. I just played for the first time in my life today and got 20 tickets. At that price just hitting the smallest payout # would still be a craptastic amount of money.

mmaness
I wish to thank all of you that are so bad at math for paying my taxes with your lottery ticket purchase. The chances of you winning are just slightly less than my having been killed by an Apollo moon rocket on it's way to Mars at 12:01pm today. The sad, sad state of American education nowadays. Sigh. You are very welcome. Could you explain further as to how we are paying your taxes? Is your tax return going to increase because we purchased lottery tickets? I was under the impression that the proceeds go to local schools/grants/scholarships and to the winning ticket holders of course. Or are you saying that when somebody does in fact win and the IRS takes their massive cut paying millions in taxes somehow helps you out? But wait that couldn't be what you meant because according to your post nobody wins and those who play are some how less educated than yourself. Get off your high horse and leave us "less educated" folk alone while we stand in front of a rocket for fun and a good cause.

If you're offended, I'm sorry .. but just maybe you might want to try a little more fiber in your diet. Couldn't hurt.Sheesh!

Couldn't hurt.Sheesh!I believe at this point I will simply agree to disagree with you on what "fun" is. I understand the need for some individuals to belittle or degrade other human beings. It is a common trait for individuals with low self esteem. I'm also aware of how quickly they tend to retreat when called out on their actions by backpedaling and justifying their previous comments with "just kidding" or "its all in fun". I however try not to insult others to begin with so that i never find myself in that position of justifying my words. Ive also lost all interest in discussing this any further so I believe I will go buy more lottery tickets to help out with your taxes.P.S. Thank you for your concern of my fiber intake. I will stop and grab a bran muffin after I buy more lottery tickets.

Now you are guaranteed to win (at least a portion) of the $640 million.Even if there are 2 other winners, you will still come out ahead.

Max-Paul
6PM news was interviewing a lady with the lottery. She said that of all of the possible number combos, 97% possible combos have been used. So, looks like there is a slim chance that this could roll over to Tuesday and over 1 billion in prizes

(and yes, I paid $48 in taxes today). I gave away one ticket with the caveat that if the recipient won, she is forbidden to give me any portion of the winnings and use them only for good. What I didn't tell her is that I purchased the exact same numbers for myself also. Instead of one for us to share, you can buy each of us one. It would cost a mere $2.6 million which is less than 2% of the after-tax cash value. harrison0550
I just got back from my last dash to buy a few more tickets. I have to say that was fun, I passed 5 gas stations before I found one that I could even pull into the parking lot. Even if I don't win a dime it was fun to wait in a line where people didn't get mad for waiting but actually talked to each other about what they would do if they did win.You still got an hour or so to play so go get a ticket if you havnt already!
