Getting new Santa's workshop!

Finally getting a place to build stuff. One of the things that has hampered me in creating my blinkie-blinkie light show is the lack of any place where could build display elements. I've used part of the garage for a while, but I've found the longer we're in our house, the less room I have in the garage. I think stuff out there must be breeding when I'm not looking.

Of course, we don't use the garage to park cars. :P

So - we're getting an outbuilding next week .. 16x24. I'm intending to put a loft in the building to store stuff from the garage, which will give me the lower part of the building to build and store MY Christmas stuff.

The building is white with red trim. Couldn't resist. :D

It never fails to amaze people I know, either neighbors or at work, when I tell them I'm working on my Christmas display .. and it's Feb or March. But then again, if I ever go crazy or something, at least they can nod and agree that there's something a little off about that guy down the block.

Hopefully no one reading this will agree immediately.

My wife is one of the crazies. She started designing the 2012 show in November, 2011. She selects the cutouts for me and then does all the painting. Lost count of how many she has, but we have built three sheds to store all the Christmas decorations (largest is 12x24). This year we are going all led and adding a pixel mega tree. Roof lighting will be all rgb strips.

The main question I get ask is, "Are you already doing stuff for Christmas?" My answer is "Yep. Its a light thing, most people don't understand." Some people probably think there's a little something "off" about me too. Let 'em think that, right? I love doing this stuff and I've been doing 2012 stuff since December.

All the people who think of us this way, are in awe and amazed when they see it dancing and always change their tune standing in front of the lights. Especially if their kids are looking at them with "Dad, you're really inadequate" looks on their faces.
