Quick Simple Question

Probably a stupid question ....

I have 20 100ct c6 strings that I am taking down today to store.

Tricks to storing them so I don't have a tangled mess come November.

One person suggested rolling them up like a ball .. but that sounds like a mess.

Thanks,

Dave

I zip tie each string in a hand coil and lay them on top of each other in a big trash can on wheels. Wish I had a few more can.. That is so easy to roll up in the trailer and lock down.

Go with the "Ball" method. I have tried looping, coiling, and spooling, but when the time comes to put them up, I found the balled up strings unroll very easy with no tangles.

The first year I didn't give much thought to "plug-inside" or "plug-outside" when I rolled mine and ended up about half and half. (Plug-outisde allows you to plug it in without unrolling to test if it works, while plug-inside allowed me to put the end on my tree hook head and unwind it).
I'm still undecided which I prefer - if all goes well I think it's quicker to set up with plug-inside, but I like to be able to test them before I go through the trouble of unwinding a string so I stanadardized on plug-outside. Myabe next year I'll switch again...

Ball methon all the way. When someone suggested that on here, I thought, NO WAY!

But it's the best method by far.

I also use the ball method. It works great.

I also use it for my super strings. That makes a ball 3 times as big.

To unroll a big ball, I hold onto the end and roll it down the lawn like a bowling ball.

for my leds this year I decided to try these things from holiday storage solution http://www.holidaystoragesolutions.com/
if it will be sucessful or not I will have to see as for the many incan sets they were rolled into a ball and put 2 or 3 sets into plastic shopping bags which is a good solution
