Flyersc
I followed the instructions to the letter in "RGB, Macro & Color Effect Programming Guide for the CCR; all the examples work in the hardware utility, but when I follow the instructions for the sequencer, I get nothing! Flyersc
Yes, I made sure Control Lights was on. In fact I turned it off, played the sequence, then turned it on again to check, no go. I have version 3.2.0 Basic Plus Edition.
james campbell
make sure you have the same unit id in you sequence
George Simmons
Check the config in the HU and make sure it's not set for legacy mode. That's how they ship so if you didn't already change it, then give that a try.
DLTSLC
How many CCRs do you have ?
Flyersc
OK, I changed the device to #4 and it worked. Is that just a limitation of the software version that I have? Thanks for the quick help!
DLTSLC
Not sure if I understand your question, but the system isn't setup for plug and play. You have to associate each controller (Each CCR is counted as a controller) to a unit ID # and there can't be conflicts, else they will not work.By the way, remember that for each dongle/network, you can only have a max of 6 CCRs. Don
To add to what Jeff has said, keep in mind that the CCRs are just listening for commands. You could have 20 CCRs on a network with 2 different IDs (10 being 01 and 10 being 02) and you are only going to have the network traffic of 2 CCRs. (Yes, that's means the 10 CCRs with ID 01 would be doing the same thing.)
DLTSLC
Jeff Millard wrote:DLTSLC wrote: By the way, remember that for each dongle/network, you can only have a max of 6 CCRs.This is a false statement. You can assign as many CCRs as you like to each network. The 6 CCR limit is a number suggested by LOR based on network communication limitations if you intend to use high speed effects and programming due to the dropped commands experienced by some users. I currently have the equivalent of 13 CCRs on one network and they work fine as long as I don't use extreme effects across all the RGB channels at the same instant. You have to look for dropped commands and scale back to account for the limits, but that doesn't preclude you from having that many on a single network.JeffThis is not a false statement. I don't use macros which slice the running commands going to each CCR quite a bit. I use a lot of intense effects, and past 6 CCRs, I have lagging trouble. I think it depends on your setup and how you're running your programming. If you are using a lot of macros, and not command 'straining' your network, that's a different story. I should use macros more, but the dongles are purchased, so Meh.
DLTSLC
Poor choice of words. My field is medicine, not law! I've read a lot of posts where individuals have had 'issues' running more than 6 CCRs per network:http://forums.lightorama.com/view_topic.php?id=27927&forum_id=89&highlight=how+many+ccrhttp://forums.lightorama.com/view_topic.php?id=26501&forum_id=76&highlight=usb+485I think Don put it very nicely and will defer to His statement and logic:"keep in mind that the CCRs are just listening for commands.
