Andrew Bev
Hi Jasonbeaty,Looks like you are startinb to get the RGB bug too. What you need to work out first is if you are going to use LOR or DMX to control your RGB lights? Then you will have to work out what type of RGB LEDs you are going to use? Strips or Pixel type bulbs? Then you can work out how many transformers you will need.Good luck and keep asking questions. It is a great way to learn. jerrymac
If you want to try a small sample. Look at Holliday Coro. You can get a sample (power supply, rgb modules, 3 channel controller and controller programer) the only thing else you would need is a DMX convertable cable or a DMX box (I suggest the Enttec Pro, a little pricey but VERY worth the investment and less compatbility issues). look at Holdiay Coro's web http://www.holidaycoro.com/?Click=
edvas69
You may want to take a look at the AusChristmasLighting 101 Manual (previously known as the ACL dummies manual) which has over 70 pages of information with a focus on RGB lighting. Well worth the download. It has now been updated with even more valuable information.http://auschristmaslighting.com/forums/index.php/topic,1889.0.html
flogger7
A strong second for eddy and Jerry's suggestions. I started with a holiday coro sample pack; and the work eddy has put into the aussie manual is fantastic for learning this stuff. Also look at the Rgb basics videos on Dave's holidaycoro site. dmoore
There is a multi-part video series on how RGB works, the different types of RGB items (controllers, lights) located here:http://www.holidaycoro.com/kb_results.asp?ID=
