Nutcracker: new effect, garlands

I am now going and reconnecting all the effects I have. In the process of doing this I thought up another effect last night. Since it is fairly simple, i am releasing it first.

You will now see two choices in the effects form (spirals and garlands).

Any of your target models will work with this new effect.

All the prompts you will recognize except for one

garland type

0 = circles
AA+GARLAND0.gif

1 = garland type 1
AA+GARLAND1.gif

2 = garland type 2
AA+GARLAND2.gif

3 = garland type 3
AA+GARLAND3.gif

4 = garland type 4
AA+GARLAND4.gif

thanks

Well there are four sequencers I am looking at

1) Vixen: For them they allow what they call a rotine file, *.vir. This is a space delimited file of rgb values, one row per channel.

You open a sequence timeline, right click on a cell and say import ina profile. My effect then shows uyp on their timeline.

2) HLS: The sequencer software, HLS, form Joe Hinkle, requires a comma delimted file with a single 24 bit rgb value, again one line per channel. It has had 10,000 view sin the last few weeks. http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?19568-HLS-Sequencer-Beta-Free-to-use

3) LSP: I am just looking at Light Show pro. Their msq files are actually 7zip'ed files of xml. Their xml is teh most verbose of all the sequencers. I started a dialog on their forum to ask "If I make an msq file, can u insert it into a timeline?"

4) Finally, there is LOR. I posted a question 5 days ago,
http://forums.lightorama.com/forum81/32578.html. No one has answered what I asked.

I have the first pass of a vixen file ready. The reason? They have a simplified way of giving data to Vixen.

Basically you give one line per channel and separate the rgb values by a space.

Does LOR have anything like this? It would make my output job so much easier.

Here was thread on the vixen file:

Ok, here is first pass of a vixen vir file

If I make an lms file, does LOR S2 allow you to import one file into an already existing sequence? I don't want to go to the work of making an lms file if it is not going to work.

I need your suggestions if i am going to export Nutcracker into a form you can use.

thanks

will there be a simple way to reverse the direction of the effect from bottom to top?

so far it seems all your examples go from top to bottom...

Yes, another prompt. I expect by the time the fall comes, each effect is going to have 20-30 prompts.
:)

My goal for June is a stable release, user documentation, vimeo tutorials, lsp,vixen and lor support, all of the effects I already have available.

Thru the summer and fall, i will continue to add more effects. I am also thinking of making it so there will be a transtion effect as you change from one animation to the next. The first I was thinking is fade out the current sequence while fading in the next.

Just need time
