avery255
So I have been doing a lot of reading and research on LED's. What I have come up with is this, and please correct me if I'm wrong:1. Most if not all LED's are powered by 12v. typically...2. In order to power and control LED ribbons, strips or strings you need to use a DC board, which will supply the LED's with the correct power.3. The LOR CMB-16D-QC board is just that, the board with no power so one would have to buy a separate power supply and enclosure if desired and combined them. Now some questions that I have yet to find the answers to:1. If using the LED's with a DC board, how would you connect the LED's to it? ie.. what kind of wire do you use to run from your led strips to the controller and how do you connect them, plug or wire them in?2. Lets say I am using 1 or 2 modules to light up a pumpkin and the modules are only one color lets say green, would you use a DC board or use a PC board that has a ac/dc power adapter plugged into the out going channel plug so when that channel is turned on it is supplied with 12v?As always, any info would be helpful. Guide me to another thread if need be...Thanks for your thoughts and hopefully all the above is clear as mud...

Steven
If you're a little more specific about your location, we can see if you're close enough to stop by and see my setup. Last year I used 3 CMB-16D boards, with 2 power supplies, powering 8 RGB strip lights and 5 Rainbow Floods.

If this is the case for anyone then please just send me a PM and i will have it looked into.Part of the reason that the manual is only stored over at ACL is because we are also trying to show people that the ACL forum is just not for Australian users, its for everyone and the information contained is a valuable resource to all that want to learn RGB and pixel based lighting. Many of our members have been doing RGB lighting for the last 2 years and so we can help prevent people falling into the same traps that have been learnt previously by the members of ACL.
