So long story short we have decided to buy a new house.:?
Funny thing is as we are out house shopping the only thing I keep looking at is how I'm going to put my Christmas display up lol.

Looks like the RGB stuff may be taking a back seat for a year. Not sure yet but depending on how long it takes to find house, mortgage approval, and close. I may be dealing with a whole new display this Sept. Anyone recommend a good lender or work in the mortgage business?

I'm a Realtor.

I recommend Chris Hardy with Corridor Mortgage. He can be reached at (703) 742-7530.

Next time that you need a Realtor, let me refer someone from my network. You may just get a controller as a house-warming present. :P

We just bought our first home, we used 21st Mortgage as our lender.

Of course, now that means I have to resdesign my entire display too. Not to mention go out and buy some GFCI outlets to install around the perimeter of the home.

Current outlet that is there IS NOT a GFCI, so that's the first one to get changed out as I won't operate a display WITHOUT a GFCI installed!

Then got to drill some holes and start running wiring to the other 4 or 5 I'll be adding where I want them.

I thought you just moved a couple months ago--is this the same house, or now another? Does the new house give you more or less to work with?

We moved back to my late mother-in-laws old home for a couple months while we were looking for a home to purchase, so yes, we did move a few months ago in December, the current home has a reverse mortgage in my late mother in laws name and they are foreclosing on the home, we offered to buy, but they would not allow my wife to use my income for payments, REALLY IDIOTIC!

So we found a new place and will be moving again for the LAST and FINAL TIME {knock on wood} starting on 3/17/2012.

Actually don't have the same amount of room, so it'll be a smaller area to work with groundwise, but a little more area on the home, so got to figure out how I'm going to mount things on the vinyl siding without doing any permanent damage to it.

Normally I screw cable clamps to hold the lights and some of the wire frames to the house, but the vinyl siding is a different ball game, so I've got to figure out the best way to mount things to it without incurring any damage.

Not sure how or what I'm going to be able to use....anyone have any suggestions for mounting lights or wire frames to a manufactured home with vinyl siding?

Small strips of duct tape should hold stuff nicely. Sometimes might fail if very cold, but that shouldn't affect you in Florida.

I use a product called gaffers tape. It is a cloth-based tape used in the film & tv industry, similar to duct tape but the surface is matte, not shiny. It comes in a variety of colors and holds extremely well in a variety of weather conditions. Afterwards, it comes off cleanly without any sticky residue left over. I prefer the matte black as it does not reflect any light.

Where do you buy Gaffers' tape? Is it available at places like Lowes or Home Depot?

Sounds like it would fill my need for mounting the wire frames, if it's strong enough to hold them in wet weather conditions and in the full sun {85-95+ degrees}.

Since I live in the Los Angeles area, I go to a local production supply house to purchase it. But it is widely available online. Just do a google search for gaffers tape. I highly recommend it for its versatility, strength, and ease of use.

Okay, that's odd, I tried posting the above response and got a SQL error page, didn't see the post, so went back and re-replied to the poster, then it posts and there are TWO posts with the same information.

Sometimes I think the code to this forum is "Haunted" as it does some very strange things at times, these double postings being one of them when it errors out and you repost, because the original doesn't show up until you re-reply to a message!

Something definitely strange about that...
