DMX lights

Whoa there fella lets set back just a bit. DMX lights can be a number of things, floods, wall wash, pivoting heads, lasers, cans and so on. As well DMX lighting can be a different animal as well as its a protocol. LOR controllers can be run under DMX as well many many many other controllers you can source from about a million online stores, or Two specificly Ray Wu, or HolidayCoro. Those let any lights be controlled Via DMX as once again its a protocol. Last year all of my DMX lights came from Lowes home improvement. This year Ebay, Ray Wu, Holiday Coro, and David.

So let us know what your trying to accomplish. If you post a video of Eddys house or Kevins house that will take a whole boat load of work.

Im sure this isnt going to make Dan happy but please start here. Im a LOR hardware and software user but this may help you get to your goal.

This is a PDF file and its going to ask if you want to open, the obvious answer is yes! Save it, read it, love it, learn it, read it a again, and BUILD!

I am looking for very bright flood lights that I can shine on my house and slowly change colors. They would be used when I have no holiday decorations running. When I first started I had read something that made me believe that I would need dmx floods for this. I hope this gives you an idea of what I am trying to do.

Thanks,

Jeff

you can use regular flood lights to accomplish this, just a little color mixing is required.

as for an inexpensive DMX controlled flood light - you can try a Rainbow Flood, or if you want to build something yourself, I'd suggest the AetherII. For moderately priced units, check out units made from American DJ or Elation. If cost is not a consideration, Then my recommendation is Color Kinetics( some of their products are designed for weather)
