olracs
Jumping in all this fun world of RGB, but all the research is leaving me baffled.I appreciate your help.My goal is to use RGB dump strips and RGB coro stars and also RGB smart strips.Using LOR1602MP3 Pro Director.CMB16D-QCMy software is S3 advanceHardware, iDMX and Enttec DMX usb pro#1 Can Enttec pro be used with LOR1602MP3 Pro Director? And what would need to make it work in your typical set up?#2 RGB settings box,iDMX, Device type would be LOR?Enttec pro = DMX?#3 Network Preferences,Using iDMX Adapter = NONE Protocol = Raw DMX?Enttec pro Adapter =EN099511 Protocol = ENTTEC DMX USB Pro?#4 Testing the RGB using my Laptop PC.Are the setting above correct with using Enttec pro.Troubles galore as may guess.God willing this has to work.Thank you all. Every avenue I take it does not work to program the DMX module's from Holiday Coro, David I know will help there. There are other issues that I am trying to make work, well I'm lost. I did get everything to work here and there, just not with sequencing. And Wow, my brain waves are all over the place with everything that I have read. olracs
Common Black is marked positive, Black is+ And RGB -So I wonder if it is in the S3, Something there?I keep trying to use different Setting in sequences and in Preferences.
Dr. Jones
Have you metered the output of the CMB-16? Are the Leds 12v? do you have a link from where you purchased/ or the specs?

Steven
First, test your strip by hooking it up directly to the +12v power supply. Move the CMB-16D out of the way, and put the power supply on the bench. Connect the black wire from the strip to +, then one at a time, touch the red, green, and blue to the -. If the strip does not light, then you need to figure out what's wrong before you move to step 2.Step 2 is make sure the CMB-16D is working. Remember that unlike a CTB-16PC board, the address of the CMD-16D is set with rotary switches. Once you have set the addresses with the switches, power it up and see if it appears in the hardware utility.Step 3 is to hook the strip up to the CMD-16D. The black wire connects to a positive (any positive if your power supply is connected to both sides). The red, green, and blue connect to the negative terminals of 3 consecutive channels. Not sure what exactly is going on, Felt I was on this road but it certainly did not work for me. Easy Right? The only thing I decided to do was restore my computer to an earlier date before this test started. Well Thanks Steven. Now it's on to see if I can program $7.00 DMX controller from holiday Coro. Not much luck there. Got to be something simple, I know David will help, Don't know if he is back from China.

I have read and read and read forums, tried everything with terrible results. I do wonder if other then being confused, if my laptop played a significant roll in this also. Not sure how many variables played in this, and I'm greatful for this forum and the wonderful people.Stevens advice was spot on, as Dr. Jones.I lean towards restoring my computer as the what went wrong. But there's always that thought did I try every possible process of elimination?
