Guest guest Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Hi,I live in Adelaide Australia and just recieved my 2 x 16 channel kits from the USA last week. Finally got one together, took advise from this forum, build one then test. When I used the Hardware test channels 2, 6 7 and 16 turn on and remain on. The rest work OK.I then hooked it up to the program, same result, channels 2, 6, 7, 16 remain at all times, but the others fade, shimmers on off all OK.Any suggestions as what to do.I am doing the ground work for what I need for next year. Thanks DeblenMerry Christmas from Australia.
Guest guest Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I haven't built a DIY kit before, but my first guess would be that something didn't get put in the correct direction.I would double check that, while waiting for others to chime in.
Guest guest Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The most likely culprits are the six pin optoisolators. They may be inserted the wrong direction (look for the small dot). Something is triggering your Triacs to keep them on like that.
Guest guest Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Thanks,I have checked all, everything appears to be in the right way. Checked the solder again, OK.One thing, this time Channel 2, started to do what it should about 8 seconds into the song, then stay on, start again, seems as it has a mind of tis on.Deblen.
Guest guest Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Hi,Anytime a controller appears to have its own mind you should reset it. If your kit is a deluxe kit then:Power off, set unit id switches to 00, power on for 5 seconds then power off and set the unit id switches back to original value.Standard kit: Power off, remove jumper from header, power on for 5 seconds then power off and replace jumper.
Guest guest Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Hi,Reset, seems to have fixed channel2, other 3 still stay on.I have contacted LOR, who have asked for some pics of the board.I'll keep you infomed.Deblen
