Thank you.

How do you know they don't also read his e-mails too?

Just sayin', one place I worked at some managers had authorized others to read their accounts while they were out in the field or possibly busy with time critical processes.

Could be the same for Dan, not saying it is, but it is a possibility due to how busy he gets with everything on his plate. So he could also do something like this.

Heck, now days not even e-mail is as secure as it should be.

How secure do you think it SHOULD be?

Secure enough that these scams that come through stating you've won millions of dollars, porno crap and dating services don't come wafting in, fortunately the junk filter catches most, but not everything.

So it's still not as secure as it could be with a little more filtration to catch crap like these scams and such that constantly seems to find its way in.

Probably never happen, just too much of it out there.

BTW: That's also why I have all cookies blocked and have to be asked if I want a cookie saved to my system. Sincew I started doing that, that has cut down a lot on the junk/crap e-mail too. Not only that, it has stopped trojans and virii that are sometimes found in the "other" cookies pushed on you.

Once site I went to not to long ago, I had to block over 25 cookies (advertising cookies) that would have been placed on my HD if I didn't have IE ask first if I wanted them.

Yes, it gets tedious and annoying, but I haven't been hit with a trojan or virus since. And I got a lot of trojan cookies from Google and other sites, blocking cookies was the best thing I ever did!

Orville, you do know that they make antivirus and firewall software for such things right?

Yes, and I have those installed as well. However, even though I keep them current, "cookies" if permitted, don't always get "real time" scanned at the time of download and are found out later, during a full intensive scan of a the system. This is when I have found out when I was blindly allowing cookies to be served up WITHOUT being asked first, were containing trojan or virii files.

So now I only don't allow any cookies from ANY site that I have gotten hit with these type infections. Most of them are embedded in the "advertising cookies" like adclick. So if I have no idea what a cookie does or where it's from, I tell my browser NOT to download it.

Again, yes, it is a rotal pain in the a$$ if a site serves up a multitude of cookies, like the one I went to that had 25 cookies being served, but at least I know this is going to prevent some trojan from hijacking my e-mail and sending out criteria I don't support or condone. Had it happen a couple times in the past, hasn't happened once since I did away with accepting all these rotten cookies that are blindly nd blatantly placed on your Hard Drive.

Oh, and guess what, when you CLEAN out your cache, these cookies are immune to that cleaning, they are still there, they don't get eaten by the cleaning process! I have had to go in and delete these particular cookies, like adclick MANUALLY!

So don't beleive for a minute you're safe just because you have a virus or malware scanner operating, those that create these vile things seem to always find a way to circumvent around them, even in real time scanning!

So like said, cookies are now ASK and I decide if it gets put on my computer or not. Mostly NOT!

BTW2: Virii and Malware scanners usually also do not usually work with ON-LINE E-Mail services either. And I use Hotmail for my e-mail, how ever I do have it set up as a secure {https} system, so I haven't had any issues since I changed it over to that format.

If you want real email security, type it...print it...mail it

Nope, even that IS NOT secure any more. Look how folks have had checks (IRS Refunds and Social Security) taken right from their snail-mail box and cashed by some unscrupulous person.

Sorry to say, nothing is secure any more, nor is anything safe.

Just got to live with it and hope those that do these type things both physically and on-line get busted and get their just rewards. Too bad, they usually don't {on-line scammers mainly} get busted and serve time for their crime.

I'm the email admin/postmaster for the company I work for and I tell people all the time, don't say anything in a text or email message that you wouldn't want displayed on a theater screen for everybody to read
