Guest guest
Thinking of pursuing a singing character in about a month or two, probably Santa for the first one, but the dilemma is, which is preferred, wire frame or coro?I know each has their own advantages and disadvantages, just curious what most folks prefer to use and why they chose that particular option. LightsinMaine
I am looking for some wire frame characters. That way when I don't have them on and other elements behind them can be seen without issue (I have a very small yard).....
columbus27
I like the Coro I can zip tie it to my tree with duct zip ties.
Guest guest
Mine will probably be either mounted to a wall or near a wall in the yard. Won't be anything really behind it or them. Thinking a wire frame may be a lot easier to wall mount as opposed to coro. Although either would be fine if yard mounted next to a wall. None will be out in the yard away from the wall area.Just trying to decide which would be more practical and longest lasting.
SteveMaris
If you asked me 3 months ago, I would say wire frame. After getting the talking Rudolph from Holiday coro, I would say coro. It is a real clean look, bulbs are nice and tight, and just an overall very good product.
DougP
If you decide to go with a wireframe look me up. www.wireframedlites.com
Tremor30
Coro for sure. I got the Talking Santa from Christmas Light show and I think Holiday Coro sells the same one, they are fantastic. Works really well and I made a simple 2x4 frame with a slot in the middle for it and screwed it to the wall. It was a hit! And same as mentioned above, the lines are perfect and look fantastic as opposed to some wireframes I've seen that require a little imagination. jimswinder
Depends where you are going to put them...anywhere up in the air and coro will act like a kite in any amount of wind...or so I have heard...

Well if it's on your roof Jim, then I know you're the expert on rooftop decor.

Had to paint the Halloween versions black and put in Orange lights. But I'm sort of on the fence with the coro vs wire frames for singing/talking characters.Someone said wire frames take some imagination, this is true for some I've seen, but I've also seen some really great wireframes too. (Have 2 wire frame skulls I bought at Big Lots and they look great, but they aren't animated in the sense of mouth movement, just blinking and fading the wireframe lights to the words in the song.I may be leaning more toward the coro because it is easier to install the bulbs in, as opposed to having to zip tie the lights to a wire frame.Decisions, decisions. It'll be a bit before I decide to pursue which type I want and what I want,David makes great Coro products and Doug makes great wire frames. So it's going to be a tough decision! jimswinder
I have been thinking of during a combo...wireframe/coro duo type of thing.I'm thinking a wire mesh with a size that would allow you to push a M6 type bulb into and thru it and be snug (like Coro)...anyone else done anything like this? Terry Hurrle
Can you see through coro? Ask yourself that. If you are going to have a fairly good sized figure and something will be behind it then wire frame it your choice. I have done both and the wire will be around long after the coro is gone.:]
