bobschm
I plan on playing with a servo dog board for next year's show. Being a newbie with animatronics, which would I choose ..analog or digital servos? Where would I use each?
bobschm
Thanks Jeff. I hadn't thought about the home position situation. I may use digital as an insurance policy when the show ends.
mmaness
Digital will tend to hold it's position better than an analog. R/C modelers that have larger and/or high performance aircraft and helicopters swear by digital. They do, however, use more power - for our use, that's not a big deal, but in a model aircraft with a battery pack, it does make a big difference. Also, for our use, getting servos with metal gears is essential, otherwise you'll be stripping the plastic gears left and right. You can see a good selection of servos at Tower Hobbies.
