LORisAwesome
HiI've been thinking about a LED sign for my Radio Freq info.I saw this one at Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O2VTQ8/ref=s9_simh_gw_p229_d0_g23_i5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=14ZQZJQPZC2SZ1BMHZE0&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846I like the idea of the TCP/IP protocol and the ability to connect it to my network and program it over the network. It would be a fairly simple task to put a RJ45 jack near the sign. I would hang it inside in the living room window. There is only one review of the sign and it is good, but, I'd like to see more. The Beta Brite Prism has bad reviews on Amazon so I'm a little leery of that one.Does anyone have any experience with this sign, or others. Recommendations?ThanksJerry
Greg
I use one of these signs and have been for 3 years, It is enclosed and kept outside with no problemshttp://www.alphaleddisplays.com/4000.pdfI also can program it through 485 communication via cat5 and using a program called kitchi I feed data to it in realtime (current song playing, display info, etc.)here is a link to that programhttp://www.kitchi-rss.com/greg
jimswinder
I bought one of these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120664116782&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123made an offer of $350 and he took it.Only thing I don't like is it is not programmable through a PC...have to use the remote.but very nice quality and completely weatherproof.ran it off of one of my LOR Channels...when it was activated, it scrolled the message I had "TUNE YOUR RADIO TO 101.9" radio signhe has several sizes...so check out his other eBay auctions... beeiilll
IF you go to the www.kitchi-rss.com page and click on the purchase tab at the top, you can get to the store front where it appears that the program is $30.I too have an LED scrolling sign that I use with my display. I picked mine up on eBay 3 years ago and built a box to enclose the sign since it is not a weatherproof one.But it works okay and is great for info while the show is running.Only drawback is that it is not a true daytime sign so it can be tough to see during the daylight hours unless I run the text as red and even then it is hard to see.The sign you show from Amazon is the same type as I have so it will not be very visible during the day either I would imagine. My sign uses a program that came with it called MultiMedia LED and I don't remember what the company name is that produced it.It works okay but I think I will take a look at the Kitchi software and see if it will work with the sign I have.I would really like to get a 48" high X 86" wide LED sign that will do video but have to wait for the money for one at this point. That would really make a great item to show info as well as promote a charity and show things about the display as well as using it during the shows.
