edtrac
I have 128 channels this year and would like to add voice info about the display-can someone tell me if it can be added to the LOR program so it comes on after each section on the showThanks for any help
mmaness
Sure .. easy. If you want the voice alone by itself, then create a musical sequence and use the voice for the music. Then it gets scheduled along with your other sequences.A different option would be to merge the voice, either before or after your music, in something like Audacity. And there are other methods .. let your creative juices flow and go for it. Steven
I recommend Audacity for your audio needs. It will record your voice using the computer's microphone, and then let you cut, paste, turn yourself into a chipmunk, slow your voice down, add background music, etc. Like everything else, it takes a bit of learning, but it's powerful, and free. After you have recorded your voice announcement, you export it as an MP3 file. Then you use the Sequence Editor to create a "Musical" sequence, using this MP3 file. In this sequence you can turn all your lights on, turn some of them on, dim them, or even synchronize them with your voice, if you are describing various elements of the display.Once you have the "Announcement" sequence, you use the show editor to schedule it to run between other sequences. If you already have many sequences, you can put the Announcement sequence in multiple times.

amcdonald307
You can record your message as an mp3, then use that to create a musical sequence just like you do any other musical sequence. You could even have your sequence NOT turn on any lights while it plays, or turn them all on like static if you want to. The key is to create a music sequence with your voiceover, and schedule it in the show where you want it.I get fancy and write a poem about mine, and actually sequence the lights to it:

Tremor30
I would highly suggest looking into using The Demented Elf for your voice overs. They are fantastic. http://www.thedementedelf.com/

I love it, and I may steal the idea, too. I'm not much of a poet, but I have talented children! Thanks for the idea.
amcdonald307
I think i stole the idea for a poem from that board member who is from Nantucket.I haven't done voice overs the past couple years and have got much feedback they are sorely missed. Oh well, next year, bigger and better.

He does the voice for my display, Andy's, and many others. He can do yours too, as his prices are very reasonable, ranging from $15 to $50. (He takes PayPal, so you can pay him GBP.) He will also consult with you (via email) on your scripts.

amcdonald307
Yes, the voice is Demented Elf Kevin Dunn. He is great to work with and can turn very specific ideas into reality. In the poem, I gave him a specific tempo to use and even where to put some short pauses,A viewer suggested I give a list of songs and artists used. So I asked Kevin to read it so fast you could hardly understand it, then at the end be out of breath and make some quip about being tired. I also told him I needed it 27 seconds long, and could I get it in the next few hours please. I try not to pull that last one too often, but he came through and made it turned out great. The guy will do whatever you need, just don't ask him to sing!
