also waterproof is a must because here in arkansas it can rain for days during the seasonal show period

if someone can send me the links of what to use and order that would be cool

was going to do something like that myself but have run into a lot of roadblocks. Seems there are as many types of RGB's as there are manufacturer's and the only thing that will "easily" integrate with LOR is the CCR's. From what I can tell, doing this is the "ultimate" DIY project.

At least for this season I am taking a completely different approach.

what is your approach

i was thinking of just using the old 4 strings of different color leds rgbw 100ct 5m from mits but it would take 3 mega strands probably about the same price as the rgb method

four strands of two different colors wrapped in a spiral, if I do it correctly it will look like Mini-Webers!! Will prototype and test here in the next week or two.

C6 led lights.

i used c9 and c6 on some smaller plant vine tree things look cool but the strands have started to short out bb leds that i changed to solid strands

their really needs to be edit button on this thing

if i used rgb nodes i could make it look like mini weber trees i think and on rays store he has c9 covers for the led pixles

will do, the RGB concept is great but too many options and soldering to make work. At some point when there is a standard means to control and a product well below the CCR price point then I will look at it again.

that was my initial thinking to, don't need the 2mil colors of CCR's but if I could switch from red to green to blue in a spiral wrapped tomato cage then the effect would be awesome. don't really want to go the mini light route. the other issue with RGB's and to some extent CCR's is that they are fragile to work with.

true true i dont need that many colors either and the programing will be unreal but it sure would look awesome

oh i did not think about how fragile they would be

knowimg me i can break or damage anything :)

I am doing 5 rgb spirals trees this year and have started getting some info. you can use a dumb rgb strip with the http://store.lightorama.com/cmdedcca2.html. 12 volt dc controller. you can control 5 strips with rgb. works inline with your other lor controllers. you will need a power supply have not decided what on I want yet

it is a group buy sometime in the future idk when it is

i can use it to control pixel rgb node but cant talk to lor until they realses new software update or i run my show using another program which i thought about

or i could purchase a idmx1000 i think but thats spending more money
