Guest wbottomley
What's the difference between LOR Partner and LOR Partner at the bottom of the board? Both of them are in red. And... don't forget Member and Member in green too.
Don
Light-O-Rama has been receiving and increasing number of complaints that those with the "Beta Tester" title were being "Rude" and treating them unfairly. Thus the decision was made to remove any/all references to "Beta Tester" in the titles. The duplicate member groups are a result of the software platform the forums currently utilize. Its being assumed that:1. only beta testers are being "rude" or acting inappropriately in the forums.2. taking away a "title" will change that, if one actually believes the silliness of assumption number 1.I've seen a lot of inappropriate "rude" comments from non-beta testers, etc.Knee-jerk reactions like this seldom work, they just make people feel better without solving problems. Now, those that are attacked will not be able to discern that those attacking them are vets to the hobby and forum?

Ken Benedict
Why not make a new designation of MENTOR or VOLUNTEER HELPER to let others know that person has offered to help?Maybe a specialty like DMX GURU, PIXEL WIZARD, DECORATOR DOCTOR, or CCR MEDIC?Or 4th YEAR VETERAN, ELDER, or CURMUDGEON?My two cents worth. I've seen a lot of bad information come from those that have been here awhile..What seems to be missed is, the frustration is not being asked to help...it is someone not making any effort on their own to help themselves before asking questions. And that goes not only for beta testers, but a lot of us here to spend a lot of time trying to help.Just my two cents worth...
TitusCarnathan
William I feel the same as you the bigger customers get kicked in the teeth because possible new customers complain about everything because they cant just slap this system together to make it workOh and Dan and Lor company I remember back around Last year when you could not get your orders out on time Over here in message board land we were trying to calm them down by telling them how great of a company you run
TitusCarnathan
Honestly I was going to get about 2 or 3 more controllers this year and maby a second set of ells to create a second network but I am honestly thinking of saying screw it
Guest wbottomley
Titus, don't give up. Our viewers don't know what's involved or the headache it takes to make it work.I would go ahead and purchase what you want and have fun with it. I plan to not the peons send me over the edge anymore. These wonderful LOR partners can handle the support questions. I'll handle all of the ones concerning my display. TitusCarnathan
I am not going to give up Its probably the cold and post nasel drip that I have that is talkingAnd I am going to order those controllers because I already ordered the lights for those controllersI still am going to be on the beta forums but I am not going to help on this end of it. it seems the LOR Partners are more special that they were not singled out so let them answer questions if someone actually wants me help they have to pm me since being everything us vets say are offensive

Guest guest
It's Dan's company, and hence, his forum, agreed, and I understand how he (and likely the partners) feel this forum is an extension of LOR as a company. I get that. But what seems to be forgotten is this forum is supported by those who are customers, and show their support by participating in the forum, and helping others (even the ones who think this is plug and play like the computer they get from Best Buy, and with 5 minutes of effort and a couple questions, they can have LMFAO dancing in their driveway). But what seems to be forgotten is, all of those controllers we buy is what has made Dan successful. We're all customers..not just the ones who feel they are being "bullied" into thinking for themselves. My display is 100% LOR. I have too much into it to make a change and walk away from LOR, but I can do my display without spending a minute helping others on this forum. If things contine as they have these past couple days, I'm probably headed that direction. Sadly, my sense is, others are feeling the same way.
