Help deciding what I need

I've been reading over so much stuff the last few days, it all seems to be quite a jumble right now. First off, let me say I'm a control freak, and when I came across this section of the forums, I believe I have found just what I need to satisfy the level of control in my creations, hoping it isn't too much for a newbie to handle. I have no problem sitting down at the computer for hours on end getting every last detail just right. That is my favorite thing to do. However, my problem is figuring out all the proper hardware to put into place. So, with that said, here is what I think I need to order to start with my first prop:

Advanced license of LOR S3

The Enttec DMX USB Pro (this connects via USB straight to the computer running S3, or am I missing a piece in between?)

Controller like the one in the link (this connects to the Enttec DMX Pro? What type of cable is needed between these two boxes?)

RGB LED Modules, I'm thinking of the ones in the link

Am I missing any hardware parts in between?

Thanks for your help :)

Enttec pro - Great Choice!

The pixel's you are looking at are not as bright as other ones Ray sells. Never the less, good choice if you want pixels. The decoder on the other hand, you need to ask Ray. And you need to get SuperStar from LOR to controll your array.

I decided I have no need to control pixels. I use RGB's from Ray that can be controlled by a standard LOR DC board and they are bright! If you check out this year's video's from my site, the star and the swags are RGBs. Each swag is 27 channels (9 RGB Channels) and the star is 9 channels.

Ken,

I was somewhat interested in the RGB modules you linked to, however, after watching David Moore's videos, those look like the ones he mentioned are prone to possible water damage. Has anyone had any experience with those types of modules? We get some rather wicked weather around here October thru December.

Also, was looking at the document recently posted by Greg Renna, regarding DMX. Sounds like I need a special Cat5 cable to go from LOR to DMX.
