Champion Sound Entertainment Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I REALLY like what I see. Were about to buy a new house and ive wanted to incorporate CCF's into our landscaping for year round lighting as well as for holiday decoration.1) Can we see what the strobe looks like flashing different colors?2) Can these be controlled by LOR?3) Any discounts on large orders? Thanks,Champ
Ponddude Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Champ,You know, as I was putting the video together I realized that I didn't get the strobe effects in the video...DUH! I will get a video of them before my display gets taken down.Yes, these can be controlled by the LOR software that is running DMX. They do not "understand" LOR protocol, as it is proprietary.Shoot me an email and we can talk about large orders. It will depend on how many lights you are looking for.Greg
mmais68569 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 GregIn the video it looked like there were 2 floods on each side of the house. How long was the wall that was covered by 2 floods & how far away from the house were they?I am currently using 5 rainbow floods each about 8-10' from the house & spaced about 12' on center. They worked & washed the house but not as bright as I would have liked. Mike
Dan C Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hey Greg, Great video. Those lights look pretty good.
Ponddude Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Mike,The lights are only about 4ft from the wall. That is just because of my setup and the bushes and garden walls. There are two on each side of the house and one in the middle of the yard that does the enter of the house. The lights are also facing away from each. The one was actually pointed too far onto my neighbors house and he asked if I could move it because it was too bright in his living room (whoops!). The front of my house total is 39 feet and the 5 lights lit up the house as you can see in the video.Greg
Champion Sound Entertainment Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Has anyone bought and tried these floods yet? Id really like to start playing with CCF's but my pops always told me never be the first or the last to buy try or fornicate...

Id really like to start playing with CCF's but my pops always told me never be the first or the last to buy try or fornicate...I used one of these floods this year as well as 14 of Greg's original floods in my display. Initially, I had all 15 floods about six feet away from the house, but could not get the effect I was after with the original floods, so I moved them about three feet from the house which worked perfectly. The extreme flood was used to illuminate the wall behind a cutout silhouette. I left it at the six foot distance and it did an outstanding job of lighting the wall, very bright and evenly illuminated the wall. The only problem I had with this flood was the bracket; the weight of the wires coming from the end kept pulling the flood down towards the ground (it was mounted on the back of the silhouette, about two feet above the ground.) I finally made a shim that I placed between the flood and silhouette to hold the flood at the proper angle. I don't think you will be disappointed with the flood as far as intensity, dispersion, and no hot spots. The light is very evenly dispersed. I plan to add more to next year's display.
Ponddude Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 I am going to steal this from Richard Holdman. I have been working with him for lights he wants to use in a big project he is doing. Here is a comparison he just did last night between the Rainbow Flood Extreme and the basic Floods. It really shows the difference really well.

Important difference, as Greg mentions above, between the two is the RF-Extremes are constant current and DMX-only, while the latest (version 2) Rainbow Floods can be controlled via a DC controller, no DMX capability needed.I have always been extremely satisfied with any products and/or support I have received from Greg. I have no reason to think the RF-Extremes will be any different.
