LOR Staff Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I don't recall there being a convertor from Vixen to LOR. I could be wrong.
ItsMeBobO Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I have never seen a vix file. Is it an open format? How many do you have to convert? For next season right?
LOR Staff Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 VIX files are Vixen files which are in XML. Some of it is base64 encoded. If I remember correctly, the spec for the file format is posted somewhere.
Ken Benedict Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 You might want to contact Drew Hickman at http://www.holidaytechnologies.com/I believe he has had some experience with Vixen software.
ItsMeBobO Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Took a long look at the .vix file format. There seems to be an active group of enthusiasts still using and upgrading it. While I do think it could be done, I dont want to take that on as a side project right now. There are multiple versions and extensions so it would too hard to confirm good results for all the features. Sorry to disappoint.Someone who has been a vixen user would be much better at writing a conversion program. You should post something about it among that user community. I need to focus my time on plans I have for several new tools for S3.
