Neighbors request

So my biggest supporter for my display said one of my trees is blocking her view of the marty fan. Never liked that tree. So today I cut that 80 foot tall cotton wood down. Told her it was just for her. Think I just added points with the neighbors. Added parking space also. Now its beer time after that.

I removed the sidewalk that leads up to the front door because my former neighbors wouldn't stay out of my yard. It's a duplex and they were of a certain ethnicity were they don't give a crap. I also wanted the space for my Tree, can't call it a mega tree, single color/single channel.

Sorry, but I don't think "ethnicity" has anything to do with it!

Brian, I did the same to the ugly-and-short-for-this-world tree in the middle of my front yard, but I did it just before Halloween, and thats where the 29' Black Pearl sat, right over the planter for said ex-tree.. of which the stump is the base for my MegaTree, so it's still a "tree".. kinda.. I just bored a 2 inch hole, 12" deep into the trunk (havent had it ground down yet) for the megatree pole.. a pole hole, if you will.. I was amazed tho, how much it "opened up" the yard!

We've already burned most of the trunk.. the canopy went to the dump. An 80' tree you took down.. hope you get a good fireplace load out of it.. well, not til next year anyway..

TJ,
Without that tree, your yard looks 100% better. There are two trees in my front yard that need to come down as well. I've already burned up 3 chainsaws this year "pruning" them.

Apparently, my hand has a deathray it emits to chainsaws.

Yep, that's funny, even to me and I'm one of those into nature, but sometimes a tree just has to go and when my "tree hugger" friends start complaining I may be taking out a tree for whatever reason, I always say, "Okay, you want to save the tree? Then you can come over with the proper equipment and MOVE the damn thing TO YOUR YARD at YOUR EXPENSE!" That usually shuts them up real quick.:P

+1 Excellent!

I cut down a Sycamore a few years back that was half dead and met the same response from a green minded neighbor. "You can't cut down that tree, it has been there for at least twenty years... blah, blah, blah" :X

"Well, you might be surprised what a small amount of motivation and a chainsaw are capable of. Now step aside so you don't get hurt." She hasn't spoken to me since. Oh, such a travesty.

I've had some of those "green minded" folks complain because I need to TRIM the branches from a tree that may be scraping the roof on the house or are just unsightly and needs to be trimmed just to look nice. It amazes me how some folks think you should just let the tree be and not prune them for any reason.

I'm all for green and helping the environment, but like a lot of things in life, some folks take this stuff to some really far extremes, when there really is no reason for it.

Especially when it comes to dead or even partially dead trees. They got to go!
