dknahoolewa
I wanted to get some feedback on wheather or not to change my house outline to the c9 retrofit bulbs. i have c9 LED strings up now. the only benefit i can seem to find is i can make exact lenghts.Does anyone else use the c9 retrofits and are there other benefits i'm missing.wanted some input before i pre-order from CDI. -klb-
I use the C7 Minleon bulbs on the city project, and C9 Minleon at home.I have yet to see a string that is as bright as these bulbs. I suspect in part because their C7 have 3 LED inside and the C9 has 5. Personally, I like the C7, as even with fewer LED, they are even brighter than the C9. But, I still like the C9 just fine. Unfortunately, I don't have any of mine out/up this year, or I'd give you directions. If you want to see the Minleon C7 in action, those are all the bulbs in the live tree tops, fire station outline, 10 foot tall, 5 slice wire frame trees, and half mega tree at 4900 Blair Oaks drive, The Colony TX... Max-Paul
klb,Are those Minleon bulbs dimmable?dk.., when you say retrofit know that CDI at one time and may still offer up both the dimmable and non-dimmable retrofit C7 and C9 bulbs. Now CDI may have dropped the non-dimmables but not sure. Your question leaves me unsure how to answer. But I will say this. If you plan to be able to do more than off and on. Make sure that the bulbs can be dimmed before purchasing. There are still some that cant be dimmed on the market. They are cheaper up front. That is until you try to dim them and they burn out. BTW if you are not familiar with the term Retrofit. The bulbs will screw into the sockets of your old ican light strings.
-klb-
All the Minleon C7/C9 we are using are the dimmable ones, and are marked as such on the base.I haven't really checked if CDI still carries the non dimmable ones. The price was so close between the two..
