Speakefamily
can someone help? I have seen videos that people have and they have these lights in there trees that look like the light is falling. what is it?
lkcubsrule
They are falling LED lights. Basically they have like 20 LEDs in them that do a quick chase pattern. Here's a link to them on Creative Display's site -- they have C9 replacements as well as strands of them. BrownOut
I bought 25 of the 4 foot tubes at http://www.creativedisplays.com/siteresources/data/files/dripping%20retro%20fit%20tubes%20%2712.pdfPaul was awesome to deal with.I had to buy the the wire and sockets separate. Visitors have loved them.
BrownOut
This is what they look like together.
Guest guest
Minions Web also has them-search under "meteor tubes" if the link doesn't work. I bought a few during his presale in the spring, very happy with them.http://www.minionsweb.com/osStore/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=meteor&osCsid=3c85d677526cd32be343c7f90fd5f035&x=0&y=0There are (at least) two styles...one is a screw-in bulb style, the other are a style where you have a pc board with LEDs and controller chip in what looks like a plastic test tube. The tubes are hard-wired together. This version is ready to go out of the box, no need to make sockets. My opinion only, I prefer these to the bulb style, but they both are pretty cool. The bulb style allows you to customize where you want them, separation between bulbs, etc.
papap
So can these tube lights be controlled by LOR controllers?
Guest guest
The ones I got from minions used an AC adapter...they run on 12V.They are on/off only, but you could switch them with either an AC or a DC controller (just skip the AC adapter). The C9 replacements that are mentioned are, of course, AC only. papap
I have ac controllers. So you could turn them on in a sequences Then they would do their thing.
BrownOut
Mine run on 110volts and drip on their own. The speed is not adjustable- some of the more expensive ones have an adjustable speed... I just put the power on at 100%-Logan

lleibeck
Is there a way to fire these randomly so they are not all in sync?I guess one option would be to use a couple channels to cause some randomness.Lee
Guest guest
I can't speak to the C9 style, but the ones I have do eventually "unsync"...within a relatively short time of operating. And doing it across a couple channels and firing them at different times would be another option.
BrownOut
I have read that many users will have a couple channels that power on staggered from each other-
