gerald sundberg
Are any of you using the windows media player visualization plug in? If so how do you use it? I down loaded it on my show computer but I don't know how to work with it, can you help? Your brother in Christ Jerry

Linda
I don't know which version of media player you have. I use media player 11 and just choose which visualization I want to use. In the media player in Vista I had a little trouble figuring it out after reading your posts. I found that if I right clicked on the media player now playing screen it gave the option of which visualization you want to use.
Paul Roberson
When you do what Linda has described above you should be able to play a audio file in WMP and it plays the visualization you selected. If it does you only need to set LOR video preferences. In the LOR sequence editor click:Edit>Preferences>Video PreferencesSelect "Display Audio Visualizations"Now when LOR plays a sequence with an audio file it should also play the visualization you selected in WMPBTW Winter Wonders from SoundSpectrum is what I use. I down loaded it on my show computer but I don't know how to work with it, can you help? Your brother in Christ JerryJerry,I believe you are referring to the LORVis Media Player Plug-in? This one?http://www.nopotatos.com/LORVis/If so, not too many people around here remember this old thing, or if they even knew it existed. It has been at least 5 years since I last played with it.The instructions as listed on the website:Running LORVis1. Make sure your LOR controller is connected to your computer and you don't have any LOR software open (the connection light on your controller should be blinking).2. Open Windows Media Player3. Click the "Now Playing" button on the menu bar. You should see a visualization playing with your music library on the right.4. Right click on the visualization and select "LORVis Plugin" from the list of available visualization plugins.5. The red connection LED on your LOR controller should now switch to steady on. If it doesn't, double click anywhere in the LORVis screen and a configuration dialog will appear. You can change your serial port or device id here.6. Play some music and enjoy the lights!LORVis ModesYou can switch between the various modes of LORVis by right clicking in the visualization and selecting them under the "LORVis Plugin" menu. The available modes are:1. Frequency and Power LOR Channels 1 through 6 are used to represent the frequency graph, channels 7 and 8 correspond to the current power waveform. Note that in this mode you can drag the vertical blue lines to change which parts of the spectrum are represented by each of the channels.2. Logarithmic Frequency Channels All 8 LOR Channels are used to represent the frequency graph.Linear Frequency Channels Same as above with a slightly different channel distribution over the frequency spectrum.3. Power Graph The current waveform power is represented over all 8 LOR Channels, with channel 1 indication low power up to 8 indicating high power.4. All Power The intensity of all 8 LOR Channels is varied with the power of the waveform.5. Configurable Frequency Levels This is similar to the "Frequency and Power" mode except all 8 channels are used for frequency.6. Modulated Frequency Levels Similar to above except all channels are modified by the current waveform power.7. Frequency Graph Width Sets the intensity of all 8 LOR channels based on the distribution of the frequency spectrum. Click in the plug-in to modify the percentage of the spectrum graphed. Paul C
I also ran into this problem, I had to change the port to something between 1 and 4 in the device manager.

Paul C
Boy-O-Boy does it work good with party's. I used a line in program with WMP and was able to have Pandora Drive my lights behind the bar. I also use it to simulcast a local radio station once a week. So for some nice free advertising my lights flash to there music. They happen to play a lot of Christmas music, and of course commercials. My show is sort of plain so I can get a way with it.

Absolutely,Are the red status LED,s on your cards on steady when the WMP plugin is active? I have had to open the LOR hardware utility and do a hardware search, then close the utility then the WMP would link up to the LOR cards. Usually the LED's go solid after WMP is running , and after you have selected/started the LOR plugin. All your cards that you want to control need to be set to channel 1 The com port needs to be set to between 1-4, as the plugin will only allow you to run on ports 1-4. Have you been able to get to the LORVis Properties window? if not the port setting is in there. Just left click anywhere in the black field to bring it up. Does it say in red at the top of the screen ERROR: Unable to opes serial port?
WilliamS
Yeah I got it. The software wont accept the Comm14. Did as advised above and moved it to Comm4 in Hardware manager and came to life. I bet my neighbors at 12am last night had no idea what was going on when they started flashing.

May have been something years ago, don't know when it came out or if it was something that was around before the Mr. Christmas box came on the scene. So no offense to the original creator, but if I were just going to set up something to dance lights to something like a color organ, I'd go buy a Mr. Christmas with the MP3 input. Let me know if you want line in capability on WMP, as Pandora will not control the visualization. It will involve downloading a program and then disabling your PIC. This way you will be able to use any devise connected to your Mic/line in jack, to control your lights.
