DC-MP3 not reconizing SD Card

I have been running my show with DC-MP3 for the first time this year (with much difficulty I might add). Anyways, I wanted to update the show list so I deleted the files from the SD card and upon writing the new show to the SD card the DC-MP3 no longer recognizes the SD Card. The lights on the DC-MP3 do not flash at all like they did before one inserted

I even tried to reformat (FAT) the SD card and it still doesn't recognize the card is inserted.

Any ideas out there? :)

no...but I guess I can try that. I'm not sure if I'll find the preferred Lexar SD card at my local Target or WalMart

I've used dozens of different brands with no problems. Just be sure they are 2 gig or less.

Sometimes camera stores are a good source for the smaller size cards

When you said the above - are you still getting power to the DC-MP3?

Hey Jasons. I used the MP3 myself. However, mine was the 1602W Controlller w/ MP3(ie DC-MP3 card on the controller)

OK, Let's verify somethings. Apologies in advance if already tried.

1. Sd card formated to FAT, not FAT 32

2. Make sure your music is 128 Constant Bitrate in MP3 format. If not, you can use the program Audacity, to change the bitrate to constant and 128.

3. Did you use the Hardware Utility to write your show to the card. When using the director, you have to use the HU, and the LOR MP3 tab. The Show editor won't work with the DC-MP3. At least I don't think it will; verify if you will please. As I said, I use the 1602W Controller with MP3..might be different.

4. When writing your show to the card, the LOR HU indicated show sucessfuly written.

5. If any errors, if you have another PC/laptop, try it on that one. I had diff. writing my show using my desktop; but wrote to the Sd card just fine off laptop. I use Win 7 ULt. on Desk; and Win7 Home Pre. on laptop. Don't know why desktop gave so much trouble.

6. Ok, after trying the above, try your card again in the DC-MP3. You should see some status lights, if read sucessfully.

7. Also, might consider updating firmware on DC-MP3 card.

8. Verify there isn't a standalone seq. that may be interfering.

9. If still not sucessful; give it a shot of another SD card.

This is all I can think of right now. Some of the above, caused me problems; hence suggesting them to you.

Good Luck

David
