Strobe Repair?

Recommended Posts

Some of my strobes have gone out over the years due to moisture. I was wondering if anyone had any experience successfully repairing them? If its the bulb that is the problem, seems like it would be easy enough to solder a new bulb to the circuit board. Otherwise, may get to be more trouble than its worth. These are C9 curtain strobes from www.christmaslightshow.com. Thanks!

Not worth repairing in my opinion.

Every strobe I have ever bought from them (over 100) has failed due to moisture and condensation even with weep holes drilled.

Now I only buy strobes from Paul at CDI, no need to drill weep holes etc. They are sealed very well. Been using
thenm over 3 years with zero problems

The above links are for the CLS strobes, but was wondering if anyone has tried to repair the Action Lighting strobes? I drilled the weep holes in them last year but still lost about eleven. (I think they had a bad batch) I have replaced them and added more using CLS and CDI xenon strobes this year and am pleased so far. I find that using a combination of the three vendors strobes is a very effective way to randomize as the flash rates are all different.

Both are from the same author (Zman). The one on his website (woodinvillewonderland.com) is the newest version that he updated for the Christmas Expo. The one linked to on the landolights site is the original less "polished" version. Both are potentially useful though.
