digdeepfundraising Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi all I'm in the uk and have ordered my lor set up but from why I have read I need to change all the plugs to uk .but I was thinking instead of changing all the plugs on the controllers I could change all the plugs on the lights instead so that the lor controllers are untouched can someone supply me a website In the us that I can order them from and what are they called apart from us plug . Do you guys have a model number for themMany thanks dan
Paul Roberson Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I would think something like these. Spt1 male plugsPut on Spt1 wire. Then splice the spt 1 wire into your light string sealed with heat shrink tubeing.Or maybe something like this. and strip your light string wire and use the screw terminals in the plug. Then fill the plug with some kind of sealer. Got this plug idea from the "Easiest Snubbers to make"Disclaimer: I know NOTHING about UK lighting.
jer75 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi Dan , I've done exactly what your thinking of doing seeing next year I'm going over to US LEDs , so to save rewireing I used these ....... http://www.maplin.co.uk/us-mains-plug-1472 I ordered 32 and they came within 2 days Cheers Jerry

jer75 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 You can buy 3 pin US plugs but I'm not 100% sure where , I went to my local napkins and they only had 5 in stock so I just ordered them instead over the counter . I'm based just outside Bath and still havent finished my display for this year due to it being my first year useing LOR , but I should be finished in the next couple of days . Heres my display pre LOR ..... Attached files
