I can launch Itunes from the Windows Shell Command.

Does anyone know how to do the following:

1)Launch ITunes and have it start a playlist

AND

2)Stop the play at some point in time (like a few seconds before the real show starts)

No, but zara radio is free and easy and does a good job.

I know that is not what you asked, so feel free to ignore it.

I dont want to hear those tones all night
It's been a couple of years Since I played with Zara
Is there a way around the tones at this time?

Why use the tones? I use start and stop time events. Granted it's not exact but with a little testing you can get really close.
For some reason the tones stopped working on my computer so I started using events and have for years.

Bret,

My use for this is generic music playing in between shows when the lights are just in a "static all-on" look for about 25 minutes. The timing doesn't have to be exact since it is just fill music. It just needs to start a little bit after a show and quit about 15 seconds before the next show.

Can you describe how you do this with events in my email

Thank you,

Charles

edit: for grins I would still like to see if anyone is launching music from ITunes via the shell; but whatever gets the job done is good for me.

Yeah, I don't use the tones anymore either(they don't work with my current sound card). I use scheduled start and stop times.

Could you not use a shell command to start Zara? My Zara is set up to start playing the last playlist on start up. So just start it up and it starts playing right away.

I don't know if you can or not. I just use Events and it works everytime regardless. Even with power outages it starts back up just like LOR so it's automated.
