Guest guest Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 i am interested in adding more lor units to my show can i add them to my old sequences or do i have to start all over from the beginning? also is there anyway when you are working on a sequence do you have to keep watching it from the beginning everytime you want to check what you did or can you pause and then start from where you left off because it takes so much time to watch the parts of the song that you are finished with every single time. thanks
Guest guest Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 You don't have to start over when you want to add more channels. Just right click on the bottom channel name and select "insert multiple channels below." Then change channel settings and point them to your new board. To make it so you don't have to watch a sequence over and over again, click Play - Play range - Visible Screen. Then just move the sliders over to the section you want to edit.
Guest guest Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Just go to play button on top- go to play range - visible screenThis should help you Don't forget to take this off when your done
Guest guest Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 can i add them to my old sequencesYes. Go to your sequence editor, open up the sequence. Left click on a channel and it will pull up a menu that will allow you to add a channel.also is there anyway when you are working on a sequence do you have to keep watching it from the beginning everytime you want to check what you did or can you pause and then start from where you left off because it takes so much time to watch the parts of the song that you are finished with every single time. From the mnenu, go to play, select play range. You can play the visible screen, or your selected segment(s).

But let's say you want to add a 64 channel mega tree to 8 sequences that you already have. Adding channels one by one and changing the setup channel by channel on 64 channels in 8 different sequences will take a long time. This may not be the best way to do it but it works for me. 1. Open a new sequence.2. Add all of the NEW channels ONLY (let's say 64).3. Configure, name and set the color all of your channels.4. Save the sequence with the NEW CHANNELS ONLY. 5. With this sequence opened up in the sequencee Under Edit select Export configuration.6. Pick a name like MEGATREECONFIG or whatever you are adding.7. Save the configuration.8. Open the OLD sequence you want to add the channels to.9. Left Click on the grey box of the very first channel (box that has the name of the channel).10. Select Insert Multiple Channels Above.11. The program will ask you how many channels you want to insert. Put in the number of channels that you created in the sequence that you exported ( let's say 64).12. The channels will be inserted.13. Go to the top of the new channels that were inserted.14. Left Click on the the very first "New Channel" grey box.15. Go to the edit menu - click on Import Channel configuration.16. Select MEGATREECONFIG (or whatever you named the channel configuration when you exported it). All of your newly configured channels should now be added to the blank channels you inserted in the OLD sequence.17. Click file - Save As and save the file under a new name temporarily so you don't overwrite your old file until you are sure all is well. You can repeat the process for all of your old sequences.Hope I didn't leave anything out.
Guest guest Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 John Paul, that was an EXCELLENT step-by-step. One I am certain I will be referring to next season!Cheers,Charlie
Guest guest Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Mine is similiar to John Paul's.I have a master channel list animiation sequence. When I recently added a new 16 channel controller, I added the 16 channels to the end, set the names, assigned the channel numbers, set the colors and update my animation. Export that channel list and import into all of my other sequences, the channels get added to the end.I do this anytime I have a change in my display. Yesterday I added a new element to an open channel. I opened my channel master, changed the name, changed the color, assigned the channel, edited the animation, exported and imported into all of my other sequences.Mark
Guest guest Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I would love to be able to add 64 channels to a sequence, but alas the spouse sez not this year.:cryingsong:
