harrison0550 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I'm running all LEDs with the exception of my mega tree. For the mega tree I'm letting LOR put together the board with 2 14 awg supply cords. For the other 3 boards I used 2 supply cords each (black computer power supply cables) because I had a box of 200 of them. Those cords have #16 awg wires in them though. Is this going to be a problem? They have ran fine the last 2 nights but will they be ok all season? Thanks!
JBullard Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Shouldn't be a problem, Andy.I'm all LED and I use a single #18 supply cord to each of my controllers
harrison0550 Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Good deal! This rain today has given me too much time to sit on my hands and think lol. If you want any of those pc power cords John just let me know. I will grab a hand full of them and bring them to you when I return your USB adapter. Like I said I got a box of 200 of them so now all I need is roughly 90 more controllers to hook up to them.
JBullard Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Thanks Andy, but I also have several boxes of them.
Donny M. Carter Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 JBullard wrote:I'm all LED and I use a single #18 supply cord to each of my controllersJohn, Do you use Spt to power your controller? If so, how long are the runs to the power source? Thanks!Donny
JBullard Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Up to 30 feet or so may be the longest run of SPT1 to reach a controller .I usually make a single long run of 16 AWG then use triple taps for branching to the controllers and plug another 16 AWG into the triple tap and continue to the area of the next group of controllers, triple tap again and continue.I am all LEDS
