John2571
I have almost no time to get an fm transmitter and was wondering if this will work: http://www.amazon.com/0-5-Fail-Safe-Long-Range-Transmitter/dp/B003FO4UHW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1321832916&sr=8-2It says you can change it to low power so will it be a problem with the fcc? Also it can ship with 2 day so it will get here tues or wed. Also it is assembled correct?
Jason Burge
Well, I don't see why it wouldn't work. All of the reviews are good but, If it were me I would definitely turn the power down though.
John2571
If I set it to low power would it transmit at least 200ft?
Jason Burge
It should. I have a Ramsey that outputs at .1mw and it covers half a block.
mcompanik
I have this transmitter and it works fine. I had to turn down the volume on the unit to get rid of a hum, but I just turned up the volume from my computer, and it did the trick. You might have to play with it to get it right, but it just took me about 5 minutes to do it. As far as the low power setting, I don't know. I have mine set on high and I can get quite a distance from it depending on terrain. It IS assembled, and shipping was super quick.
gizmomkr
I have the same unit - mine works fine. I paid way less from ebay. Came from china.

aurickle
I have it as well and used it during Halloween. It was awesome. DEFINITELY set it to the low range. You'll still be heard clearly from about a long block away. The signal falls off fast beyond that.Bear in mind that even at the low range you are violating FCC regulations. Whatever you do, don't broadcast at the high range since it would go for a good couple of miles and drastically increase your chances of ending up on Uncle Sam's naughty list. John2571
Got it hooked up and it works great. I am transmitting through 3 feet of concrete(basement) so I had to transmit on high power. It transmits to the top of my street and then drops off quickly. Just enough range(500ft)
