DIO32 and DIO8RLY's

Hey all. First post and looking forward to building my display for NEXT Christmas.

I am looking at getting a DIO32 with 4 DIO8RLY's. I have a couple of questions on this set up. I will be using 120 VAC or 18 VDC to power the board. With either of these two power sources, is there a limit to how many of the relays on the relay boards I can pull in at one time. In other works could I pull in all of the relays at once and hold them? Also, I know the relay switches are rated for 16 amps at 250 VAC. Any idea of the rating at 18 volts?

Welcome Chad. I do have two of these boards. But no special electronics knowledge. What are you going to use 32 relays on? I use them on my strobes and lasers which can not be dimmed.

Pretty confident you can activate all the relays at once. But I question if you can power all 32 fixtures from the same power supply. The relays can handle DC 18 volts.

Thanks for the reply ItsMeBobO. Like you, I would be using them for strobes, bubble and fog machines (going to hack the remotes) etc. I actually doubt I would ever pull all 32 in at once or even use all 32. I was more looking for limits of the system to make sure I wouldn't cross that limit. I would use these boards for Halloween as well as Christmas and in static displays as well as for floats. It looks like the DIO32 board is best as I can drive it off of AC or DC voltage. As for the power supply for the fixtures, I would have multiple supplies.
