For The Newbies with cheap led light strings

This is my second year using LOR and just tried out using a snubber on one off my elements that wasn't fading very well. I'm not afraid to admit that I bought a bunch of cheap led lighting last year from Walmart and Menards and the such. Last year my sequencing was a lot of on/off and not much in fading. This year I'm using a lot more fades and wasn't happy with a couple of elements even with long fades not working to my satisfaction. One idea I read about was to solder a 1W 39k resistor across the wires of a plug, I went to Radio Shack and they didn't have anything close. I got back home and found a string of incadescent C7 lights. I cut up the string for individual bulbs and wired a plug on each one and wrapped the bulb with electrical tape and plugged it in somewhere on that channel. Tested a fade sequence and was amazed at the difference. Just thought I'd rehash this old idea' there hasn't been much talk about them lately. The new gen 3 controllers have snubbers built in.

I have to concede that Tom's idea is much better. We had a warm day yesterday(about 50 degrees) and had a couple channels on that had my snubbers on( I had a couple strands not working) they get hot and started smoking the electrical tape I had on them to cover the light. Snubbers do work great if you are having fading issues. What I did was fine for testing, but not good for long term solution. Well, it's time for me to click on the above link and place an order.
