CLD Kevin Posted November 19, 2011 Share Posted November 19, 2011 Been dyeing to post this, but wanted to wait until things were final. This is not necessary Halloween, but is of my Halloween show. This Sunday, Nov 20 on ABC, my Halloween show…well, just the house, faces, bushes and firesticks will appear on the American Music Awards as part of the closing act being performed by LMFAO.I was contacted by LMFAO 14 days ago (a few days after Halloween) with the concept of using my same lighting set up, but on stage. It was a cool idea, but unfortunately I could not figure out a way to convert my sequences into the Master Lighting system so they can control the programming. So the next best thing was to video record my house with some very high quality HD camera’s and show it on the huge video screens behind them as they performed. And not only did they want to use Party Rock Anthem…they wanted me to program their new song, Sexy and I Know It. With only 10 days to program because it needed to be finished and ready to be video recorded 4 or 5 days before the show airs for editing. And to throw another wrench in the mix, they were going to use a custom performance track so I had to also modify Party Rock as well. Woooo....was that overwhelming to take in. Oh, and the performance track wouldn’t be ready for 2 to 3 days cause it was still being worked on. I wanted to say that is impossible….but how could I pass up the opportunity? I tell you…I never worked so fast on a sequence!! I started right away working every night…very late. I was able to complete the whole face/mouth sequencing in 2 days (record!!) and then it took me the rest of the time…every day and every spare minute….to finish the rest. I finished it hours before they showed up to video record it. The short time given, I think it came out good. I video recorded it and wish I could show you…but was told not to so you’re just going have to watch the AMA or wait until the day after, then I can post it. So set you DVRs for this Sunday, Nov 20 on ABC. It airs my time (PST) at 8pm to 11pm. Since it’s the closing act, it probably won’t air until 15-20min or so before the end of the show. I know many folks record directly to their computer (I do that too) and then will upload the segment they captured. Can't do much about that I'd think.Watching the AMA right now just to see your new work at the end of the show, yes, I am going to record ONLY the LMFAO segment to my Hard Drive so I can show it to some freinds later that don't have the means to record it and had to work.Looking forward to that segment and IS THE ONLY REASON I'M WATCHING THE AMA! They gave us backstage passes to rub elbows with the stars....even took a pic with "The Situation" lol. It was a very cool party and we had sooo much fun. Only somewhat disappointing thing was the AMA started the video 2 secs late and the sync was off. But it was on the AMAs so who's complaining!Oh...and huge free advertisement for Seasonal Entertainment. The video of the LED lights on the rear screens during Sexy...close up shots of the Double Rainbow Floods! lolHere is the video if you missed it.
