jimswinder Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Did anyone else notice...the "blue falling snowflakes" behind Thompson Square?I want me some of those!!!
shfr26 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 WOW!! Why is this thread under General Decorating and when you click that area, it's not there, but go to coffee shop and it's there.? I'm confused:? But no, I did not see it.Dang, now it's not in that category any more.
jimswinder Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 here it is if you missed it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kOJjaqar_AI guess now looking at it again, it may have been just a video behind them...DARN!!
heystew Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 My guess is that those are pixel strings or ribbons like the CCR. I was able to do a similar effect with my RGB pixel strings last year. Spacing was about 2-3" between pixels but gave the appearance of being a continuous fall.
gizmomkr Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 It looks too bright and ridgid for projection. also a lot of black (hard color to get right with projection)Could be wrong, but my best guess is a rather large led wall. although much more expensive, LED is much more common in production when budget is not an issue.I bet the CMA's has a couple bucks to spend.

Some are going in different directions randomly towards the bottom tells me it might be video/projection of some kind as well.
Scott T Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Agree. These are large RGB panels. They use them on American Idol, X-factor and alike. We will become video graphic editors if we all go this route. Plus it would requires us to turn the front of our house into a Jumbotron. Then we will become the host of every sport event on the weekends and a drive movie theater at night. ugh!Although, we could get rid of the extension cords! Maybe there is an idea in here.
JoeKinne Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I was working in the garage when this cam on, my wife called me into the house to see if and said....."OK, You've now ruined it for me, I look at the background and start to think that it would be neat to get some of the snowflake tubes and put them on the house, I wonder how they do it, I wonder what they cost?" then she hit me in the arm and sent me back to the garage.--Joe
Gary Blair Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 What!! I missed the Christmas Music Awards?
heystew Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Below is a video of a similar effect and what it looked like with some RGB pixels spaced about 3" apart.Sorry for the less than great quality of video
