captainron19
Noticed a weird thing today - all my 16 channel controllers from the past have the firmware version 4.40 on them (I think I upgraded the firmware last year)Bought an additional controller for this year (8 channel) and just hooked it up to test it .... everything worked fine but I noticed the new controller is running version 4.30Should I upgrade this unit's firmware or leave well enough alone since it worked fine during my initial test? Not sure if different versions of the firmware on different controllers will pose a problem.
JBullard
The firmware versions can/will be different for different controllers depending on the particular microchip the board contains. You didn't specify WHICH 8 channel controller you have.If it is the CTB08D then ver 4.30 is correct. If it is the CTB08S then ver 4.32 is current. You also didn't say which 16 channel boards you have.A CTB16PC Gen 1 board uses firmware 4.32A CTB16PC Gen 2 board uses firmware 4.40Loading firmware 4.40 on a Gen 1 board will render it inoperable. The microcomputer chips are different on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 boards.

nickb01
Newbie question from standpoint of not programming sequences, just buy them already done. My question is how can I tell what firmware level my controllers are at. Does the hardware utility pgm display this somewhere. I have a LOR1602MP3 and 2 CTB16PC. I've currently upgraded to S3 software. Last Xmas I could not play several sequences on the mp3 player, but could play them on S2 software. Thought I would give it a try again this year with any new firmware available.
captainron19
Nick you can find out what firmware you are using in the Hardware Control panel after doing a refresh of units it will list them all in the drop down box along with each one's firmaware version
