dito
im new to this hobby, so i'm not sure where to buy everything, but i always search ebay. i saw somewhere "dont buy on ebay". why shouldnt i buy rope lights from ebay?...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120806195380
gizmomkr
I bought about 300 ft on ebay last season. It was easy to see how cheaply made it was. IT did work fine, and I think I will get 1 or 2 more seasons out of it.a word of caution. Rope light can only be cut in certian places ( if at all) the place I bought from said it could be cut every 3 feet. I planed my project around that figure, and when it arrived, the cut marks were every 4 feet.It may not sound like a big deal, but since I needed to cut the rope 6 times, I ended up short by a lot, and had to go back and buy more.So beware, and be carefull of IF and where you can cut it. dito
is there a maximum length i can make the ropes. i think i read that the max length is 30ft? but i can daisy chain more than one 30ft section together?
Paul Roberson
Saying "Don't buy from Ebay" does not tell anyone anything. "Ebay" does not sell anything. They only provide a place for people to sell stuff. I have purchased rope light from "Ebay" and did not have any problems with it. The seller was "mengmengusa". I have also purchased straight from the sellers website.http://www.mengmengusainc.com/

It really depends on the design of the rope light. Mainly, if it has an internal fuse, and if so, does that fuse protect just that rope or is it in series with all ropes connected down the line.I'd just follow the recommendations on the box. If so, those are some great prices!
Paul Roberson
Yes, they are dimable. I never had a problem with them. I have 300' of red n 300' of blue LED. Works great.
