BrownOut
I have been trying to get my music and video to sync to the music. I have spent plenty of time sequencing and now that I have 1/3 o my lights up, I wanted to test them out. I used my iPod nano with headphones set to 99.1FM and EDM transmitter for sound. The lights seem to be coming on half a second or more early. After many hours of trying to figure out how I was this far off or why my computer was delaying the sound, it turns out the problem was my simple radio. (By hours, I am referring to three days)The iPod nano has a digital audio recorder built in so you can record or replay radio. Turns out there is a delay before you hear the recording in progress. I figured it out when the neighbor drove by and asked what I was doing. I told her to tune 99.1FM and the lights were perfect! Thanks technology!-Logan

TitusCarnathan
is it just the ipod nano that is delayed

Sounds great in the car and on the pocket radio I picked up yesterday at Dollar General for $3.I have speakers in the front yard that work, but for testing, I wanted something with headphones. I guess I got rid of all my basic radios at some point.-Logan
Guest guest
I'm the only person in my family who doesn't have an ipod (or any i-device, as my wife totes an i-pod, and i-phone, and an i-pad..she's all in with the whole Steve Jobs approach to technology...), but from what I read, the nano is the only ipod with an FM radio. Since they allow you to start and resume FM broadcasts, makes sense they are doing digital storage and delaying it a split second.I'm glad I know that now, as my daughter has one, and I can see myself scrambling to figure out the 1/2 second delay as she helps test lights listening to her nano for audio. MooCows
I found the Nano delay when testing out my RDS signal. Had main radio going right in time with the music and Nano going and it's quite an effect. I suppose I could have paused it on the nano a little longer and created an echo effect. Hmmm, what lighting effect would I program for an echo?
