Intros.....

Just looking for some new ideas for show intro. I've done the THX broken and a few others. Also used Clark griswald taking to his song about decorating and ending in "Russ, when was the last time I overdid anything". Any different ideas to spark the show?

Well this might or might not be funny depending on your viewpoint, but you could always make one where you start out saying the lights have been cancelled, dim the lights or have them go all off, then pop back full on and say, just kidding....Enjoy the show.

Wonder how many would start to drive off before the lights POPPED FULL ON and the announcement came at the same time they did come up and you said you were just kidding?

Again, depending on who you are, might be or might not be funny. Your milage may vary.

Same here. Our show ends with the National Anthem featuring our military in a video.

Show runs non-stop. There is never anyone here when it starts at 4:30 to see an intro. And at night I often keep it going until there are no cars. So never an out-tro either.

It gets dark early here (sometimes before 5pm), so about 5 I turn some lights on but no music. Just a slow loop changing the flood lights.

I did the THX thing the first year. Last year I had a 3-minute piece in the middle of my set which highlighted and described the various parts of the show. I received many complements on that, and will be doing it again this year.

For my very first show of the year I do a nice intro where I highlight each feature and give show statistics like # of lights, # of feet in ext cords, ect (I also have 100+ people standing in front with huge speakers)....after that the show just runs constantly. Seldom does a car pull up right at the first of the show and stay through the whole thing.

Are you advertising free copper? That's one way of getting those cords gone. I did this the first year and haven't since. I'm not taking that chance.

I have my lights on a loop but I use clark griswold where he has everyone in the yard and he does the drum roll that is at the start of the loop.
