Need Idea for Roof

I have this huge blank canvas on top of my house. Any ideas on what I can do with it? I thought about stringing a bunch of minis over it with some cool chases/fills. I like the "bouncing roof line" look and probably try that out this year.

Any ideas on rigging lights across the shingles? A dozen or so strobes would be a nice addition.

I have a week before the man-lift arrives, and 240 hours of PTO time!

Depending on how much you want to spend - you could layout a grid of lights - lay strings straight up and down over the roof, or make a checkboard pattern - up and down and then across roof, or make a big star. I use 48 strands of lights and make a big star on my roof. You could also layout snowflakes of different sizes.
You could also just outline the roof line with Red, Blue and Green C9's (LED's or Incan.'s).

sorta depends on the budget, CCR's would look really cool as an outline. Random sized LED snowflakes/stars would also be a nice effect.

Ok, maybe that is the way he would do it but with CCR's and CCF's and CCB's!

I've always liked this look for strings of lights on a roof.

String art - I love it.

I like that star of Bethlehem hanging on the side of the house, too. Anybody know where I can get one?

That would be the $hit! But why only do 12 CCR's? I would line the whole roof with them. I think maybe 120 CCR's would fit perfectly! And the Matrix would beat anything currently on display right now! You would see first prize on EVERY contest, I bet.

That's reminds me..... Just like Danny Devito in "Deck the Halls" Here is a trailer for anyone who doesn't know the movie. The best part is about 1:55 into the trailer.

We made this 48" 5 point star out of PVC pipe for less than $20. We have 24" inch 5 point stars to fill the left side of the roof. We mount those on L-Shaped brackets. Ran out of time to get them up today.

The large snowflakes were bought at Target. They are mounted on 3/4" SCH 40 PVC pipe and inserted into a flag pole mounting bracket.

Those look good, Linda. I think that I'll end up going with a dozen stars or snowflakes in various sizes. I'll have a look at Target this week to see what they have.

Here is a picture of my roof, last year I created a large star using 48 strands of LED white lights. I mostly do spins with it. The strands are 23' long but fold them in half to fit them on that section of roof, which measures 23' x 24'. The previous years I had snowflakes, some from target and some that I made - bought frames and put on LED rope lights myself.
