We have 18 controllers and testing them with light strings had become a problem. The tester is made up of two 8 channel test units, with channel numbers on the displays and cords. I use the HU and one c7 bulb on each of the 16 channels turned on then fade them all down all looked to work great until I got to the last 20% or so and thats when channel 11 stopped fading and would not go down any further, it would go up to 100% but would not go down below 20% ended up being a bad triac. So it never hurts to do a fade also. And with twinkle or shimmer they are fading flashing to fast to realize that its not going all the way down.
