Testing LOR controllers

Grace Community Chapel has developed a 16 channel LED tester for the LOR controllers. We have 18 controllers and testing them with light strings had become a problem. The tester is made up of two 8 channel test units, with channel numbers on the displays and cords. For further information contact Rick Brown at rbrown2666@gmail.com.

Here's how I test mine. Hang the lights up in the display. Connect all of them and turn it on with the hardware utility. The Hardware utility comes with the LOR software and works great. ;)

oooooor.... you can turn on all the channels in the HU, use ONE light and plug in and pull out of each cord.. takes less than a minute to test a controller.. If it lights, it's gonna fud, twinky and shimmy too.

Yup...great minds think alike....:(

I actually am even lazier, use one cord and jump from channel to channel, set to twinkle...have yet to build a controller where it wasn't all or nothing as far as full on versus twinkle/shimmer/etc. ...

That said, i do have a special "LOR controller test adapter" I can sell you. Its 49.99, and for you, today only, free shipping. if you want quick connects attached, it will be 59.99.

See pic below. Paypal, visa, mastercard, and money order accepted.

disclaimer: Humor posting only. if you are thinking "gee, i might want one of those, I hope it comes with detailed instructions", I highly recommend you attach each dongle, and test one channel at a time.

Be careful assuming that everything will work fine at that point. I use the HU and one c7 bulb on each of the 16 channels turned on then fade them all down all looked to work great until I got to the last 20% or so and thats when channel 11 stopped fading and would not go down any further, it would go up to 100% but would not go down below 20% ended up being a bad triac. So it never hurts to do a fade also. And with twinkle or shimmer they are fading flashing to fast to realize that its not going all the way down.
