Tom Clapper
Ok I know I can't use all of my C/9's on one channel so after splitting them up I have one more question. If I have three 18' rope lights on one channel, how many C/9's could I put on that channel with them? Basically if anyone knows how much a 18' rope light uses I could figure it from that. I can't find anything on the packaging that tells me wattage or amps. Also it is Incandesant rope light from Ace hardware. And before someone says it...No I don't own a kil-a-watt meter. I also don't have my lights setup yet so It would take alot to get them ready and get a reading with one right now anyway. I have thought about buying one, but have enough stuff yet to buy for this season, so its probably not in the books. Also does anyone know of a good place to get one? LORisAwesome
I have seen the Kill-O-Watt at Home Depot. I got mine from Amazon.com.If you can find out wattage, you can figure amps using ohms law and a little algebra... I usually assume 120 volts.Watts=Volts x Amps.Your best bet is probably the Kill-O-Watt it will give you all three with no math required. Also remember there is a 15 amps (If I remember correctly) limit to each side of the controller.. If you aren't careful, you could exceed the 15amp limit even if you are below the limit on all the channels.

LORisAwesome
I guess I should have mentioned that the Kill-O-Watt runs about $20.00.
