Santas Helper
In the search for LED RGB flex strips. Is there a size of LED, brand or any other variables to keep in mind before buying? Warnings? Recommendations? The CCRs are kinda pricey for my budget at the moment so looking at RGB strips as an alternative. Thanks,
ace_master
I'm using the ones from Ray Wu (seen here). They look amazing. very bright, and colors are about as vivid as my CCR.The only issue I've come across is dimming them all the way down on the 12V DC card, for me; they don't dim all the way to zero (acting similar to unsnubbed LED lights on 120V). I have posted in the forums about it, but no one else seems to have had this problem with the same strips, and controllers I have... so it could be my power supplies?! Paul Roberson
I have and use the same RGB strips ace_master mentioned.I have over 400' of them and love them. I have also not noticed the dimming problem ace mentioned. I got all my power supplies from Ray also.Just to note these RGB strips are not controllable like the CCR (per pixel) the whole strip is the same.Another note. If you have more than 5 meters in a run you may have to power it from both ends. The strips I have around my garage is actually 3 strips (8', 8', and 16') When I had the power coming into one end when it was suppose to be white (all three RGB on) it was actually pink on the end furthest away from the power input. I installed another power cord to that end and now it is actually white all the way around. The power cord from both ends hook to the same channels on the DC controller. Dan C
I have a question about Ray Wu's Store. It seems he has a lot of RGB led stuff and I'm sitting here drooling over all the ideas I can come up with for the little led modules.I've noticed some discrepencys in his store though. Such as the title says RGB but the description says emitting color is white.I'm having a little trouble trusting what to order plus the fact that this guys in China. Is he really legit? I've never bought anything from china or overseas for that matter, so forgive me for being a little skittish...

Ordering from him was also my first over seas order.I would contact him thru his email. His English is pretty good.I have made I think 5 orders from him, and have never had a problem with any of them. In fact I made a custom RGB LED strip order from him. I was for sure something would not be right, but it was ALL correct. My first order with him was a 5m roll of RGB LED strip so I could check it out.My next order was for power supplies, 4 pin cable, 4 pin waterproof connectors and below was my RGB LED strip order.ALL of it came in as ordered. I would/will order from him again.Dealing with him thru emails he will probably create a link for your specific order so you can check it out before purchasing and purchase everything easier.5050 SMD RGB LED,30LEDs/m;waterproof by silicon tubing;white PCB8m 4 pin wire one end 3 = 24m7m 4 pin wire one end 4 = 28m5.5m 4 pin wire one end 4 = 22m5m 4 pin wire one end 3 = 15m5m Female connect - Male connect 1 = 5m3m 4 pin wire one end 1 = 3m2.5m 4 pin wire one end 1 = 2.5m2.5m Male connect one end 1 = 2.5m2.5 Female connect - 4 pin wire 2 = 5m2m Female connect - Male connect 5 = 10m2m Male connect - 4 pin wire 5 = 10m1.5m Female connect - Male connect 5 = 7.5m1.5m Female connect one end 5 = 7.5m ______ total of 142m

The reason why a lot of people use Ray is because of the aliexpress Escrow protection, The money is paid to a third party and not until you recieve your goods and give the OK is Ray paid, so its a fairly safe way to deal with China. As far as the confusion and some incorrect details, you will find that on most Chinese online stores, the best thing is to make your choice then either email or go into chat with Ray and ensure you have the correct product, he has very good english skills and will try to help
