Schedule editor need help

Ok I hope I ex plane this right. I open up my schedule editor and I have my Christmas show in there.(For testing reasons) I try to delete it so I could put my Halloween show in and it tells me that I can't save it because of my license BTW I have a basic. Do I need to upgrade my license? I have been trying differant things but every time I go back to the show editor my Christmas show is still there even after I deleted it. What am i doing wrong? Please help this is frustrating

you can't save a show in Simple Show Builder, it is used for doing a show "on the fly". You first have to go into Show Editor and set your show up. Then use Schedule editor to put it on the schedule.

If you aren't doing anything wild (like having a sequence you only want played once at the beginning, etc.) then the thing to do is get into Simple Show Editor and pick the sequences you want to play and when you want them to play and let it be.

you might also be having an issue with where you are saving your sequences, Simple Show Editor uses LOR defaults only.

What do the error messages say, word for word?

Is it possible that you have scheduled something for a specific date, rather than for a day of the week? That is only supported in Basic Plus or above, not in Basic.

In any case, you might want to try the following:

First, exit all LOR programs.

Second, use Windows Explorer to go to your LOR data directory (one level above your default Sequences directory - for example, if your default Sequences directory is "C:Usersspindler88My DocumentsLight-O-RamaSequences", then go to "C:Usersspindler88My DocumentsLight-O-Rama").

In that directory there will probably be a couple files called "weeksched.lsc" and "yearsched.lsc" (they might show up as just "weeksched" and "yearsched", depending on how you have Windows set up).

Rename them out of the way - such as to "old-weeksched.lsc" and "old-yearsched.lsc".

Then start up your Schedule Editor again, schedule your show (on a day of the week, not on a day of the year), and see if it will let you save it now.

I think you are getting confused with Simple Show Builder and Show Editor.

Simple Show Builder is intended to be used to select sequences and play them in the order you want at the time you want on the days you want. I am terrible with computers. I tried to schedule the show in the schedule editor and it come back Your license does not support scheduling by the day of the yr. Is there a # I can call to talk to someone live to walk me through this? I think that the only way I could do this. Like I am not good with computers. I think I need to take some classes. Deleting things off a computer doesn't speed things up any more than tossing a soda bottle out of the window of your car making your car go faster. If your computer is slow then you need to figure out the "why". Everything from the age of the computer to the speed of the hard disk as well as the amount of memory affect the speed. My late mom would complain about how slow hers was and I found out she had 12 Bible Scripture programs all running at the same time. She was afraid that if she removed the wrong one she might miss out on something inspirational. Once I took it down to one and explained there was only one Bible then she was ok and the computer ran like brand new.

Unless you have a friend you can truly trust to fix it my best advice is to take it to the Geek Squad at BestBuy.

LOL Yes this is my first yr and my comp is 2 yrs old I bought it at Frys its a Toshiba satellite with Vista which I hate. So if I re download the software I will not lose my sequences? Last year was my first year and I found alot of this really overwhelming so I purchased a 32 channel "starter kit" with basic plus 5 sequences/songs and that was pretty much my show. Used Simple Show Builder on an old laptop and just let it run the whole time.

This past January though I wanted to kick it up a notch and got busy on building props for Christmas and Halloween plus started digging into the software and sequences.

it will, spent most of this year building props so sequencing still leaves me a bit queezy. I don't forsee doing anything major in the way of props for 2012 so that will be my year of sequencing.
