George Simmons
My daughter posted things on her facebook page about my adventures over the past few days that triggered a few worried emails and upset a few people because she didn't include an update. So I'll just set the record straight and then we can move on.YES, I did unexpectedly rent a room down the hall from the CCU for a few days at a local hospital. Frustrating way to spend the time, actually... Nice view, but I couldn't touch - every time I looked out the window I just became more and more stressed for being indoors while an excellent weather setup weekend was going on without me. Sure, there were nice-looking females waiting on me day and night, but I couldn't touch them either...NO, I did not have a heart attack... even though we all know how easily that can happen around here.YES, I do have a blood clot (of indeterminate age, origin, or purpose) in the left ventricle of my heart. While I'd rather that it wasn't even there in the first place, the good news, for me anyway, is that they assure me it isn't quite as ominous as it sounds. They also sounded quite confident it could be successfully managed into submission. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If anyone can email me a couple extra days of nice weather I'd appreciate it.
rwertz
Sorry to hear that George. I had a clot in my leg back in 93. I spent a lot of lying around letting it dissolve slowly. You're on your own with the weather
CKSedg
I'm glad you're all right, George. What about your display? Are you going to be able to get it set up? I wish I were closer to help, if needed.

shfr26
Get better real soon buddy!! You may have lost a few day of setup, but you still have your great sense of humor. Will see what I can do about the weather thing for you.
beeiilll
Glad to hear that it is manageable and not a BIG concern yet. Take your meds (and be a good boy) and it will be behind you in no time.I know your pain at not being able to do things.I spent this weekend with my leg up in air and ice packs on my knee. I did some pretty good damage to my knee a couple of years ago but last Friday I was doing a simple concrete patch (just a 10 inch crack under a garage door)and when I kneeled down to pour the filler, I put my knee onto a little piece of stone and that caused me to roll the leg away. So bang I tore the muscles in the knee.Still have to hang out for another few days watching the world go by and ice packing it.Ah, the joys of getting older !!Bill

Take it ease and just rest, you will get better !!! Pushing it is not the thing to do. I know how you guys are, but its OK to take some time for yourself. However, if you get to bored I have about 60 songs to sequence, LOL !!Get Well George !!!! Mark Showalter
George,We will all do what we can to get you some better "set-up" weather if you do everything you can to get better. Like Denise said... Don't push it. AND like we say when we don't get to summit a mountain because of weather... The mountain will be there next time we want to climb it. Christmas will be there every year. Make sure you are too.

OK - let me see - er - a - there - I got the bubble wrap and the box is closed with the weather you asked for inside - will tape it closed real good - hopefully it wont leak out before it gets to your house. Some freeky talking house told me to send this to you - asked for a black cat for this coming weekend, but I figured it would claw its way through the bubble wrap so thats a no go on the cat. Now let me put this in my digitizer scanner and see how it - er - a - push this button now - OH CRAP! Well - I tried. I've attached a pic.Oh - all silliness aside - what I not allowed to put it aside? Oh - OK - yes dear - yes dear - I see dear - but - but - oh ok.... George, you take care.... George Simmons
Thanks everyone for all the kind words and encouragement, both public and private. The show will go on, although I won't have quite as much time between setup completion and first light as I had hoped for. And I'll do my best to sharpen the old rapier wit as soon as I find my whetstone. I guess I'm still smarting a bit from the dose of reality life served up last week.I'm not exactly on a restricted exercise protocol, but I've had stern warnings from every conceivable medical professional to slow down, not hang upside down, and rest often. (That should definitely help me leverage a bit more assistance from Sharon. She says she doesn't want to help... fine... I'll just go outside and hang upside down until she changes her mind...) And with the meds, I've got a great excuse why not to eat leafy green veggies, like spinach.Don - hundered of bottles of clot-busting medicine might be a bit much, but one or two would certainly be welcome. I'll trade you for a couple dozen colored strobes...
